“I extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency and to the people of Angola on the celebration of 50 years of independence,” Trump wrote, emphasizing that, over half a century, the country has achieved “peace, stability, and economic growth through effort and determination.”

The U.S. head of state also noted that Angola today stands as an example of reconciliation and prosperity in Southern Africa — an achievement which, according to Trump, “honors the legacy of the nation’s founders.”

The message carries relevance not only for its diplomatic tone but also for its explicit recognition of Angola’s progress and the potential for a strategic partnership with the United States. Trump referred to cooperation projects such as the Lobito Corridor, which he considers essential for opening new markets and boosting regional development.

“The United States is proud to support Angola’s efforts to expand trade and economic integration,” he stated, emphasizing that collaboration in the fields of energy, infrastructure, and private investment reflects the growing strength of the relationship between the two countries.

This congratulatory message holds additional symbolic value at a time when Angola seeks to strengthen its international standing and attract foreign investment, diversifying its partnerships and moving closer to major economic powers such as the United States.

By acknowledging Angola’s achievements and expressing his willingness to deepen cooperation, Trump sends a message of confidence in a future of shared prosperity, reinforcing the importance of dialogue and economic diplomacy as pillars of the country’s new phase of development.

Five decades after independence, the message from the former American leader is also a sign that the world is watching Angola with respect and anticipation, believing that the next 50 years may consolidate peace, growth, and Angola’s role as a stabilizing force on the African continent.
