In his message addressed to the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, Trump praised Angola’s progress since 1975 and highlighted its growing role as a regional leader in Africa.

“I extend my warmest congratulations to Your Excellency and to the people of Angola on the celebration of 50 years of independence,” Trump wrote, emphasizing that, over half a century, the country has achieved “peace, stability, and economic growth through effort and determination.”
The U.S. head of state also noted that Angola today stands as an example of reconciliation and prosperity in Southern Africa — an achievement which, according to Trump, “honors the legacy of the nation’s founders.”
