António Luvualu de Carvalho, Angola’s Ambassador to the Commonwealth of Australia, is championing cultural diplomacy through a recent visit to a vibrant cultural venue in Queensland. Leading a delegation of diplomats, the ambassador explored the site whose main attraction bears a name deeply familiar to Angolans: “Kizomba da Bwé”.
The programme, inspired by the popular Angolan dance and music style, serves as a lively bridge between cultures, bringing African rhythms and traditions to Australian audiences. The ambassador praised the initiative, highlighting the power of cultural exchange as a tool for strengthening international ties and promoting Angola’s rich heritage abroad.
“This is more than a celebration of music,” Luvualu de Carvalho said. “It’s a celebration of identity, history, and the enduring spirit of the Angolan people.”
The visit reflects a broader diplomatic effort to use cultural expression as a means of fostering mutual understanding and reinforcing Angola’s presence on the global stage.
